經濟部生醫推動小組新聞部落格

「第7屆全國工業發展會議」於8月19日、20日在台北國際會議中心召開，由經濟部施顏祥部長主持，首日馬總統親臨致詞訓勉，全國產、官、學、研界人士約五百餘人參加此一盛會，隨即針對台灣產業發展的現況與問題進行分析與討論，並針對當前政策進行檢視及提供產業發展建言，進而凝聚共識，擘劃台灣工業發展藍圖。

Cancer is the leading cause of death in Taiwan and around the globe. Governments, research institutes, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies are all making progress in the areas of cancer prevention, cancer discovery, cancer treatment and cancer therapy. In order to promote collaboration between Canada and Taiwan on innovative cancer technologies, the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei is co-organizing a video conference with Alberta International & Intergovernmental Relations as well as our local partners Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Industries Offices (BPIPO) and Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB).

We have invited Dr. Chei-Hsiang Chen, Director of BPIPO to be our keynote speaker and share with us Taiwan cancer developments and innovation. From the Canadian side, we have invited Dr. Szumski, Vice President of National Research Council (NRC), Dr. Covitz, Senior Vice President of MDS Nordion, and Dr. McEwan, Director, Cross Cancer Institute, Alberta Health Services, to talk about innovative cancer discovery, technology, commercialization and cooperation opportunities with Canada.

Canadian Innovative Cancer Technologies – Video Conference

癌症不單是造成台灣人口死亡的第一病因，更是全球造成死亡的主要病因之一，成為全球化的共同議題。包括政府、研究機構、醫院及藥商都致力於推展癌症防治、早期發現及癌症治療等相關技術。為促使加-台兩方癌症研發專家相互交流與合作，由加拿大駐台北貿易辦事處與經濟部生物技術與醫藥工業發展推動小組主辦，協同 Alberta International & Intergovernmental Relations 及財團法人生物技術開發中心，於2010年8月5日假台大醫院國際會議中心202會議室舉辦『加拿大創新癌症技術視訊會議』。 會中邀請經濟部生物技術與醫藥工業發展推動小組主任陳啟祥博士與我們分享台灣癌症創新與發展現況。
